The 60th anniversary issue of German magazine Stern Fotografie is something of a retrospective of Karl Lagerfeld's photography and showcased these pictures he took of his inexplicable muse Claudia Schiffer. Because he is Karl Lagerfeld and therefore is incapable of passing gas without considering the press he'll get out of it, Claudia is done up as six different women for six different covers, including as a black woman and as an Asian woman.
As controversies go, we declare this one both calculated and lame. Not that we're begrudging anyone who takes offense, but it's (to our eyes anyway) so nakedly obvious an attempt generate that offense.
